The Carnival Calabar Queen Pageant is back with their 2013 edition. Contestants from different parts of the country were screened in Lagos, Abuja and Calabar and 30 semi finalist have been selected. You can meet the finalists on www.247ja.tv .
The CCQ Pageant started in 2007 and has crowned five queens who have been role models to the society. Proceeds from tickets and tables are dedicated to cater for abandoned babies and their teenage mothers. So far about a hundred babies have been saved by this humble movement.
The organizers have categorically stated that even though they don't support teenage pregnancies, they strongly believe two wrongs don't make a right. It is with this mandate they also educate teenagers of the dangers of premarital sex and HIV/STDs.
The winner of this pageant will be getting a brand new car and 2 million Naira among other gifts. She will be the ambassador for (MACA) Mothers against child Abandonment.

The contest is open to all Nigerian ladies between the ages of 18-27. To
qualify, participants must have spent one year in the university and a
minimum intelligence quota of 70%.
