M:Vibes 2nd Edition the full gist...
The second edition of M-VIBES: Akwa Ibom State Entertainment Industry Night took place on Sunday August 12, 2012, at Monty Suites Uyo, in a bigger, better, brighter and faster style.
The red carpet was hosted by Iquo Ebong Okon and performing artistes for the night spoke about their satisfaction with the huge success recorded at the maiden edition as well as expectations of a greater outing at the second edition.
The main event was anchored by the female hip hop artiste Envy, who opened the previous show with her explosive performance and the Dance General himself- Brandiny.
Lady Ofumbuk of XYZ Printing House started the occasion with a short prayer and artistes took over the stage.
From Toby Ray-winner of Godswill Akpabio Golden Talent Hunt Season 1, Esem S, D Brown, Kelso, Mirobed also from Godswill Akpabio Golden Talent Hunt, Lyn, Malik, Nasiru, Chemistry, Oga Sir-whose single was released last Friday August 10, 2012, Feelings, Emerald, D-Mos, Altino, J Razor to TN- another contestant in the Godswill Akpabio Talent Hunt. Comedy provided by Atomic Bomb and Sir James brought the house down and the dance group ‘No Fear’ ended the show on a very fantastic note with their energetic and dynamic displays.
Malik's excellent performance attracted some very positive comments from Mr. Monday Uko, one of the sponsors of the event, who said he had signed ten artistes that performed at the maiden edition of the program. He promised to bring in people within and outside Akwa Ibom State to the next edition of the show to see the talents we have in Akwa Ibom State. He also stated that 10 more artistes from this second edition will be signed on to perform at the upcoming ‘Monty Suites Funfest’ to commemorate Akwa Ibom State 25th Anniversary. To reward Malik for his outstanding performance, Mr. Monday Uko promised to help produce the video of the songs performed by him.
The speaker after Monday Uko also promised to help Malik become an International artiste. In his words to every one present at the event ’Keep your dreams. Have your dreams. You can make more money than a counselor. Go to school, develop a talent and d sky will be your limit. It is not about money but developing what God has given you’.
Everyone was encouraged to follow the ‘Monty Suites Funfest’ on Twitter to win a ticket to the show where entertainers from both the maiden and second editions of M-VIBES are billed to perform alongside Nigerian artistes who have gained national and international reputation, recognition, recommendation and awards.
M-VIBES: The Akwa Ibom State Entertainment Industry Night is a bi-monthly event birthed by Brandiny and Edima Imara of L’edima Productions. It is designed to: Promote the entertainment Industry e.g. Music, Dance, Comedy, Acting, Fashion, Make up, etc, in Akwa Ibom State and put it at par with bigger places like Lagos, Abuja and the outside world; Show case talents from Akwa Ibom State; Project Akwa Ibom State to the whole world; Give entertainers from Akwa Ibom State an opportunity to perform at bigger stage events; Bring the corporate brands back to Akwa Ibom State and generally help youths in the State to achieve their dreams.
